Photographing Pediatric Healthcare: Beyfortus and Family Stories
Hospitals are tender places to photograph, and the Beyfortus work asked for exactly that. We spent our time with caregivers and the smallest patients, in exam rooms and on hospital floors, catching the quiet moments in between.
The light in a hospital is never what you’d choose. So I find the window, wait for the right second, and keep everyone relaxed. A nurse who feels at ease with me looks like herself on camera, and that’s what this kind of work needs.
The portraits of the doctors and nurses mattered as much as the baby moments. These are people who do this every day, and I wanted them to look that way.
I’m a pharma and healthcare photographer based in Los Angeles and Asheville, North Carolina, and I travel worldwide. See more healthcare work at thesabrina.com.
