American Airlines: Crew Portraits and Campaign Photography with McCann

I photographed American Airlines pilots, flight attendants and ground crew in Dallas for McCann, a few days of shooting alongside the production company Interrogate.

I’m super into aviation, so this one was a dream job. We photographed real American Airlines crews, from pilots and flight attendants to ramp agents, mechanics and fleet service workers, in the terminal, out on the tarmac and inside a hangar.

It was my first time directing the way a 747 was facing, and I got to stand inside a propeller. The days were hot, and I can’t count how many times my team went through security and back again over those few days. Every trip was worth it.

The McCann team was a joy to work with: Chandler Simms, Andrea Kaye and Melissa Kemp. The production company Interrogate kept the whole shoot moving like a film set.

I’m a lifestyle and commercial photographer based in Los Angeles and Asheville, and I travel anywhere the story is.
